9/11 – A Weekend To Volunteer

Across the United States this coming weekend many Americans will be remembering the September 11th attacks by stepping outside of themselves and volunteering for a local organization in their community.   FLOCers too will be a part of the “weekend of remembrance” by engaging in several volunteer activities including:

  • Assisting special needs children of military personnel by spending a day fishing
  • Helping raise money for Taller San Jose which is an organization that lowers neighborhood violence by teaching job skills to former gang members
  • Raising funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters through their annual YPC Summer Cruise
  • Assist the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation by bringing awareness to their 2012 run/walk by working a booth at Doheny Days!

All of these activities will be making a difference for our local community this weekend and will be an outward sign of solidarity with the families and friends of those lost loved ones of 9/11.

If you are interested in volunteering this weekend, please click on one of the above activities or e-mail FLOC’s Volunteer Coordinator Jackie Leeman at Jackie.leeman@futureleadersoc.org   Thank you for contributing!
